Zondacrypto scandal: Bogucki says Tusk government is “nowhere to be seen”

Zbigniew Bogucki sharply attacked Donald Tusk’s government, calling Poland a “crypto-state” in the context of the Zondacrypto scandal. The politician claims that the state has failed to take any real action, despite the fact that prosecutors are conducting an investigation into customer losses estimated at at least PLN 350 million. In his view, instead of taking action, the government is focusing on political disputes.

Commenting on the Zondacrypto scandal, Zbigniew Bogucki delivered an unequivocally critical assessment of Donald Tusk’s government, saying that the state has effectively ceased to function in this matter. In a post on X, he stressed that in the Zondacrypto case “the state is simply absent,” and that the state apparatus has not taken steps which, in his opinion, should be obvious: from conducting procedural actions and making arrests to holding specific individuals accountable.

The state under Tusk’s government is not functioning

“Meanwhile, no one has been held accountable in this case. No one has been detained. There are no visible real actions, at least I am not aware of any. And I suspect no one else is either,”

Bogucki said.

“If such actions had been taken, the minister of justice, the coordinator of the special services, the minister of the interior, the finance minister, or the prime minister himself would surely be boasting about them. After all, we are talking about a group of people directly responsible for the functioning of the state,” he added, while also accusing Tusk’s government of focusing on fighting President Karol Nawrocki instead of dealing with the Zondacrypto scandal.

Proceedings in the Zondacrypto case still without results

On April 17, 2026, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice opened proceedings concerning suspected fraud against Zondacrypto customers, estimating the scale of the damage at at least PLN 350 million. The proceedings concern, among other things, misleading customers about the possibility of purchasing and storing currencies, as well as actions that may have obstructed the detection of the origin of the funds. Bogucki points out that despite such serious allegations, the government has not reported any results of the services’ actions.
