The Minister of Foreign Affairs announces a contest for the best foreign-language publication promoting the history of Poland and the best publication in Polish on the history of Polish diplomacy, which was published in 2020. Historians can submit their work until August 15, 2021.
Submissions should be in book form only – scientific monographs, popular science publications or editions of sources – in which there are no more than three authors.
The winner of the contest in the category of “Best foreign-language publication promoting Poland’s history” will be awarded a cash prize of EUR 10,000; for the winner in the category “Best publication on the history of Polish diplomacy,” there is PLN 20,000.
Prizes in the contest are awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs upon the proposal of the Historical Diplomacy Council.
Rules for submitting publications:
Entries must be submitted by 15 August 2021, or postmarked by that day to be eligible for consideration.
Entries should include three copies, if possible, accompanied by published reviews, opinions and peer reviews. Books sent in electronic form will also be accepted.
The entry should include the written consent of the author or authors to take part in the contest and their contact details.
This year’s competition includes only works published in 2020.
