Iga Świątek Dominates Emma Raducanu to Advance in Australian Open

World No. 2 Iga Świątek showcased her dominance in a decisive 6:1, 6:0 victory over Britain’s Emma Raducanu at the Australian Open. The 23-year-old Polish star needed just 70 minutes to secure her spot in the Round of 16. Świątek’s fourth win against Raducanu highlighted her superior form, with the Brit struggling to keep up despite a valiant effort, especially during a 13-minute opening game in the second set.

    Flawless Performance by Świątek

Świątek’s stellar performance was reflected in her 24 winners and only 12 unforced errors, compared to Raducanu’s 9 winners and 22 errors. The Polish player offered no opportunities for her opponent to break serve and maintained full control throughout. Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, continues to search for consistent form after injuries and coaching changes.

Świątek has spent just 3 hours and 31 minutes on court in her first three matches, breezing past Katerina Siniaková, Rebecca Šrámková, and now Raducanu. Up next, she will face either Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian or Germany’s Eva Lys.

Świątek’s best result in Melbourne was a 2022 semifinal appearance, but she looks poised to surpass it this year.
