At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda is visiting Krakow today. The two leaders visited the Special Forces Component Command in the morning.
“This emphasizes that security matters are one of the foundations of our cooperation,” said the Head of the National Security Bureau, Paweł Soloch. He recalled that in 2019, the Presidents of Poland and Lithuania have signed the Declaration on Strengthening the Polish-Lithuanian Security Partnership.
Later today, the Presidents will take part in Krakow’s celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of the hanging of the Sigismund Bell. They will be accompanied by their spouses.
“The Sigismund Bell is a witness to our history, but it is also a witness to this wonderful Polish-Lithuanian history. This anniversary shows once again that for Polish-Lithuanian relations, history is the foundation of cooperation,” explained the Secretary of State at the Chancellery of President Wojciech Kolarski.
