With opening of gearboxes plant in Wałbrzych total investment of Toyota reaches $1,2 bln.
Toyota has opened a new line of production dedicated to the production of 4th generation gear boxes for hybrid cars in the city of Walbrzych. The gear boxes will be used in Toyota Corolla Hybrid’s and Toyota C-HR Hybrid’s produced in Europe. It will be the first production line of its kind located outside Asia. The new investment cost the Japanese company 288 million Zloty, or 76 million dollars. The motor industry giant is also planning additional investments in Poland, raising its total investment costs in Poland to 4,5 billion Zloty, around 1,2 billion dollars. The new production line will create new jobs in Walbrzych, Toyota intend to hire 600 new workers in Poland by 2020, increasing the total number of employees in Poland to 2,500.
