On the weekend of 15-17 October, the fourth European Citizens’ Panel will meet as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Participants will discuss migration and the role of the EU in the world.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2 PM on Friday, Oct. 15; the event will run through Sunday, October 17.
The European Citizens’ Panels are the centrepiece of a conference organized by the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, and the European Commission. The deliberations of the panels are based on contributions from citizens gathered from across Europe on the Multilingual Digital Platform, as well as presentations from researchers. In each panel, 200 citizens from different Member States discuss their assigned topics.
The fourth panel will focus on migration and the role of the European Union in the world.
The first meeting of the European Citizens’ Panel took place on 17-19 September at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and was devoted to economic issues, including social justice; the second meeting took place on 24-26 September and dealt with European values and security, and the third, on 1-3 October, discussed environment and health.
All panels will meet again online in November for their second sessions, and for the third time at European institutes in several European cities (Dublin, Florence, Warsaw, and Maastricht) in December and January.
