Russians use mines manufactured in the 1950s

The Russians are mining the Kherson region using mines from the 1950s, Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported on its website. In order to at least partially restore the military-technical potential, huge numbers of tanks and armoured combat vehicles, Putin’s army is forced to supply units with equipment and weapons produced many years ago.

“Trying to stop the Ukrainian servicemen, the Russian invaders are urgently constructing additional lines of defence, mining the territory and creating engineering barriers,” the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine announced.

According to the intelligence, a convoy of Russian military vehicles arrived in the occupied territories with soviet mines manufactured in the 1950s. They were stored in warehouses in Russia’s Rostov region and were prepared for destruction.

“When trying to set up mine barriers, several sappers-occupants from the battalion-tactical group (BTG) of the 7th military base of the 49th combined arms army of the southern military district (military unit no. 09332) of the Russian occupying forces have already been exploded on old ammunition,” Ukrainian defence intelligence reports.
