In Vilnius, the Polish-Lithuanian intergovernmental consultations take place today. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė chair the consultations. The main topics between Polish and Lithuanian Prime Ministers were security, energy and the situation in Ukraine. “We, Poland and Lithuania, work side by side in Brussels, Washington and Kyiv, helping our Ukrainian friends to make this new security architecture, the foundation for the future prosperity of our two nations,” Morawiecki stated.
Glad to welcome Prime Minister of Poland @MorawieckiM in Vilnius, where today we have the 3rd joint working session of our Cabinets. A valuable and fruitful tradition in the making. This year – with Ukraine in our minds and in our hearts. pic.twitter.com/b9s1novmFb

“Poland and Lithuania lived in the shadow of Russia for a long time. We have often warned our partners against concessions related to the aggressive Russian policy. Unfortunately, only the events of recent months have brought the whole of Europe to agree with us,” Morawiecki said in Vilnius.
“Russia must be stopped and Russia can be stopped. Ukraine does it on the battlefield, but the Lithuanian and the Polish governments also do it, explaining to Western Europe what our policy should look like to never be subject of Russian blackmail again,” he referred to the situation in Ukraine.
“A crisis related to the sanctions that Poland and Lithuania have fought from the beginning is advancing in Russia. Today we are dealing with a war of nerves: who will give up first? Poland and Lithuania will guard that Europe does not give up in this fight,” he added.
PM @MorawieckiM: Poland and Lithuania are the center of reconstruction of the security architecture in this part of Europe or even all of Europe. The new world that emerges from behind this geopolitical turn may be even safer and better than before 24 February 2022.

PM @MorawieckiM: It all starts with security. We, Poland and Lithuania, work side by side in #Brussels, #Washington and #Kyiv, helping our Ukrainian friends to make this new security architecture the foundation for the future prosperity of our two nations.
