    Why did Russia make the decision to withdraw its troops from Kherson?

    The surrender of Kherson represents a potential turning point in the course of the Russian invasion. General Sergei Surovikin said that further resupply of the city was no longer possible.

    Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry decided to withdraw troops from Kherson to the eastern bank of the Dnieper. The order was issued by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. A complete retreat is likely to take place within a few days with the support of Russian artillery.
