The victims of the storms in Podkarpacie will receive PLN 4 million in support, the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy Marlena Maląg said. The money is to cover the first losses, and support will definitely be greater, she assured.
On Friday afternoon, heavy downpours went over part of the province Podkarpackie. The most difficult situation is in Rzeszów, Łańcut, Przeworsk and Przemyśl poviats. About 400 people were evacuated. Water flooded roads, houses, outbuildings, schools and wells. Where it has given way, huge damage can be seen. The head of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy stressed that the estimation of losses is ongoing and the most important thing is to ensure the health and life of residents. “This is an extremely difficult situation, it requires swift action. We want to help the families who found themselves in this difficult situation,” Maląg said. She informed that allowances would amount to up to PLN 6000 to meet necessary life needs, up to PLN 20.000 for renovation and up to PLN 200.000 for reconstruction of the house. They will be paid by social assistance centers.
