On the second day of the U21 World Championships in Mexico, the Polish women’s national volleyball team clashed with the Chinese team, resulting in a 0-3 defeat for Poland (18-25, 16-25, 19-25). Earlier, Poland secured a victory against Argentina, while China suffered a loss to Serbia in the Group C play-offs.
The initial moments of the match saw China taking a three-point lead against Poland. Despite their efforts, the Polish team struggled to equalize the score. The captain of the Chinese team furthered their advantage. China maintained control from the start, resulting in a 25-18 victory in the opening set.
The second set unfolded similarly, with China under coach Qi Kuang leading and consistent attacks. Poland faced increased unforced errors and struggled against China’s strong blocking. Zhuang Yushan secured China’s dominance with a final attack (25-16).
In a bid to extend the rivalry, Poland fought in the third set, preventing China from taking an early lead. However, blocking centre Wan Ziyue’s appearance in the service box shifted the momentum. China remained determined to end the match. Wang Yindi’s attacks and Wang Yifan’s final point from the fourth zone secured a 25-19 victory for China.
Despite Poland’s efforts, China’s cohesive play and strategic attacks allowed them to secure a decisive victory.
