Linette Exits WTA 500 Brisbane After Kasatkina Defeat

Poland’s Magda Linette concluded her run at the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane on Thursday, falling to Daria Kasatkina in the third round with a score of 4-6, 2-6. Linette, seeded ninth, entered the season-opening event with an automatic second-round berth, triumphing over Cristina Bucsa 6:3, 7:5.

Facing the fifth-seeded Kasatkina in the next round proved challenging for Linette, as the Russian secured a 6:4, 6:2 victory, marking the end of Linette’s tournament journey.

However, Linette remains active in the doubles competition, partnering with Bernarda Pera. The duo is set to face the team of Lyudmyla Kichenok from Ukraine and Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Polish player showcased her skills and determination in singles, even though her journey ended sooner than desired. Tennis enthusiasts eagerly anticipate Linette’s future performances as she continues to participate in the doubles category.
