The center is meticulously designed to minimize cross-contamination risks, featuring separate communication routes and respiratory isolation units. Dr. Beata Celińska emphasizes the importance of respiratory isolation, previously lacking during the Covid-19 pandemic, which now prevents air from escaping patient rooms to corridors.
Śląskie Centrum Chorób Zakaźnych accommodates patients with a wide array of infectious diseases. From drug-resistant bacteria to rising cases of measles and meningitis, the center also addresses hepatitis and HIV co-infections.
