President Duda met with Chinese officials

President Andrzej Duda took part in the 9th Summit of the Leaders of Central and Eastern Europe and China. This gathering is also known as 17+1 and was established to provide a platform for cooperation with China. This year the meeting is being held in Bejing, but is actually taking place online because of the coronavirus.

In his speech Polish President focused on the need for pragmatic cooperation with China, especially in terms of overcoming the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic and on balancing mutual trade. The President’s spokesman, Błażej Spychalski, described the summit as very significant at the present time.

“Mr. President focused on the Polish Chinese cooperation, where he sees an enormous opportunity not only in importing Chinese products but also in developing markets for Polish exports. The President expressed his expectations that China should adopt a fast way in regards to importing food products from Poland. Another issue raised by most speakers concerns the coronavirus pandemic and international cooperation to fight that disease.” Spychalski commented on the summit.
