Gdańsk and Pomerania Join Michelin Guide’s Elite Cities

Gdańsk, alongside the Pomeranian region, has joined the elite group of Polish cities featured in the prestigious Michelin Guide. This milestone was achieved through an agreement between the Polish Tourism Organization and Michelin, adding to the existing Polish entries of Warsaw, Kraków, and Poznań. This inclusion underscores the exceptional quality of Poland’s culinary scene, opening new avenues for promoting the country. Culinary tourism is booming, driven by the rise of urban and cultural travel.

    Michelin’s Recognition

The rigorous selection process led to 6 restaurants earning Michelin stars, 16 receiving the Bib Gourmand, and 54 gaining recommendations. This marks the first time Pomerania and its capital, Gdańsk, are recognized by the Michelin Guide. Michelin inspectors praised not only the culinary offerings but also Gdańsk’s historic architecture blended with modern waterfront developments.

    Expanding Poland’s Culinary Map

Rafał Szmytke, President of the Polish Tourism Organization, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting that nearly 80 Polish restaurants are now Michelin-recognized, up from 49. This expansion places Poland firmly on the global culinary map, attracting tourists with its rich gastronomic heritage.

    Award-Winning Restaurants

Among the Michelin-starred restaurants are Bottiglieria 1881 (Kraków), Muga (Poznań), NUTA (Warszawa), Arco by Paco Pérez (Gdańsk), Giewont (Kościelisko), and Rozbrat 20 (Warszawa), with Eliksir (Gdańsk) receiving a Green Star for sustainability.
