Łukasiewicz – ICSO “Blachownia” and Onlybio.life S.A. are developing natural cosmetics from grape pomace, a by-product of wine production. These cosmetics are rich in bioactive substances.
Chemical Loan Extraction
The project utilizes Loan Chemical Extraction (LCE) and is funded by the Foundation for Polish Science under the Proof of Concept FENG competition. It emphasizes sustainable production and reducing environmental impact.
The project aligns with the cosmetic industry’s need for innovative, cost-effective solutions, incorporating high concentrations of bioactive substances without significant price increases.
Professor Tomasz Wasilewski and Dr. Zofia Hordyjewicz-Baran, experts in plant extract analysis, lead the research. Their long-term collaboration with Onlybio.life aims to introduce these eco-friendly products to the market.
The Foundation for Polish Science is funding 28 projects under the Proof of Concept FENG competition. Besides Łukasiewicz – ICSO “Blachownia,” another project from Łukasiewicz – ITeE focuses on biocarbon-based lubricants using lignocellulosic biomass.
