Actor Antoni Pawlicki Criticizes Government Over Constitutional Violations

In a powerful social media post, popular Polish actor Antoni Pawlicki has expressed deep disappointment with the current political situation in Poland. Pawlicki, known for his roles in television series like Czas honoru and films such as Papusza, condemned the government’s handling of legal and humanitarian issues, particularly in relation to recent discussions about suspending asylum rights.

Pawlicki’s criticism follows remarks by Donald Tusk, leader of the Civic Platform party, who recently suggested a temporary suspension of asylum rights, sparking outrage among human rights activists and left-wing circles.

The actor, who has been involved in aiding refugees along the Polish-Belarusian border, shared his frustration over the lack of action from those in power. “We wipe our mouths with the constitution and the rule of law, but now we sit quietly while our own violate them,” he wrote. Pawlicki went on to express regret over his own silence, lamenting that those who once vowed to restore the rule of law are now perpetuating the same violations.
