A heart-wrenching tragedy struck the serene waters of Lake Mikołajskie when a married couple lost their lives while attempting to rescue their 4-year-old daughter. The incident, which has deeply moved the entire nation, occurred on July 30th.
The Incident
The family was enjoying a boat ride on Lake Mikołajskie when their daughter fell into the water. Thankfully, the child was wearing a life jacket. Both parents, in a desperate attempt to save her, jumped into the lake. Despite their valiant efforts, the couple drowned. A passing kayaker spotted the little girl floating on the surface and rescued her. The child was unharmed and in good health.
Search and Recovery
Rescue services were immediately alerted and began searching the lake. Unfortunately, the bodies of the couple were not found until the following day, aided by sonar technology.
The Father’s Legacy
The father, Łukasz Doruch, was a renowned athlete, a multiple-time Polish champion in powerlifting and bench press. His sporting club, MKS Wicher Kobyłka, confirmed his identity and achievements in a heartfelt announcement.
Funeral Arrangements
The funeral for Łukasz and his wife Patrycja will be held on Monday, August 5th, at 2 PM in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chotomów. The club extended an invitation to all those wishing to pay their respects and participate in the final farewell.
