A local football club in Głuchołazy, Poland, has captured public attention after a mysterious donation helped it recover from a devastating flood. GKS Głuchołazy, a sports club severely affected by recent floods, launched an online fundraiser to rebuild its facilities. The club lost everything, including its field, equipment, and infrastructure. Their plea for help described the flood as an “unexpected disaster” that wiped out years of hard work, leaving them to start from scratch.
Donations came in from all over, with amounts ranging from small sums to larger contributions. However, one donation stood out: 26,300 PLN signed “Robert and Ania.” The large amount not only closed the fundraiser but also sparked speculation about its origin.
The donation raised questions about whether Robert Lewandowski, Poland’s star footballer, and his wife, Anna, were behind the generous gesture. Ryszard Lis, president of GKS Głuchołazy, suggested it was likely the Lewandowskis but couldn’t confirm the claim. He recalled a conversation with a representative of the donors, where it was hinted that the donation came from “a certain footballer.”
Though unconfirmed, the possibility of support from one of Poland’s most famous couples has generated excitement and hope for the flood-stricken community.
