On Friday before noon, a gas pipeline was damaged during earthworks at a primary school in Głogoczów. Even before emergency services arrived, a total of 321 people evacuated the building – 288 students and 33 staff members, said the spokesperson for the Lesser Poland Fire Service, Captain Hubert Ciepły.
Services responsible for securing the damaged gas installation are working at the scene. The gas emergency service is carrying out operations to fix the failure and ensure safety in the area around the school. Firefighters are also involved in the operation – three units of the State Fire Service have been dispatched.
No one was injured
As the spokesperson reported, students leaving the facility are being picked up by their parents. At this time, there is no information about any injuries or the need for hospital medical assistance.
