Karolina Kucharczyk has become the Paralympic long jump champion (T20 class) in Paris, securing her third gold medal after previous victories in London 2012 and Tokyo 2021. In 2016, at the Rio de Janeiro Games, she claimed second place in this event.
Kucharczyk demonstrated her exceptional skills once again in Paris. On Friday, a jump of 5.82 meters was enough for the Polish athlete to win, though it was 21 cm shorter than her Paralympic record from Tokyo. The second-place finisher, Brazil’s Zileide Cassiano da Silva, achieved a jump of 5.76 meters, while Turkey’s Fatma Dalma Altin took third place with a jump of 5.73 meters.

Poland’s Medal Haul
This is Poland’s fourth medal earned on Friday. Earlier, Barbara Bieganowska-Zając took gold in the 1500-meter race (T20 class), while bronze medals were won by Maciej Lepiato in the high jump (T64) and Michał Dąbrowski in wheelchair fencing.
The Polish Paralympic team has now secured a total of 21 medals: seven gold, five silver, and nine bronze. They are close to matching their achievement from Tokyo, where they won 25 medals, including seven golds. The Summer Paralympic Games in Paris will continue until Sunday.
