Caritas Polska is set to organize its 24th “Yes, I Help!” food collection on March 8th and 9th across Poland. The initiative aims to aid the approximately 287,000 elderly individuals living in extreme poverty, with only one in four able to afford a warm meal.
A Nationwide Effort
During the event, shoppers can contribute non-perishable items such as pasta, rice, tea, coffee, canned peas and corn, and biscuits to collection baskets placed in supermarkets, retail chains, and local stores nationwide.
The gathered food items will be used to prepare meals and care packages for the impoverished, homeless, and elderly during the Easter period. Over 25,000 volunteers have pledged their support for the Easter collection.
Convenient Donations
Donors can support the cause conveniently through Blik or by making quick transfers to the designated phone number. Additionally, individuals can participate by sending an SMS with the message “PACKAGE” to the charity number during the collection.
In the previous December 2023 campaign, 335 tons of food were collected, benefiting over 63,000 people in need. The sorted food will be distributed directly to those in need or to Caritas soup kitchens for meal preparation.
