Daria Pikulik won a bronze medal at the European Track Cycling Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland in the scratch race.
Portugal’s Maria Martins won the scratch race, beating Spain’s Eukene Larrarte Arteaga who attempted a last-minute surge, putting her ahead of the rest of the competition. Pikulik had the swiftest finish among the competitors.
A 26-year-old cyclist has had a great beginning to the year. In January, she triumphed in the initial stage of the most prestigious road race Santos Tour Down Under in Australia. She had ties to a Darlowo club for several years, and now races for the American professional team Human Powered Health.
