An act of diversion occurred on the tracks between Warsaw and Dęblin, TV Republika starosta of the Garwolin County, Iwona Kurowska, confirmed once again. “There was an explosion, a bang, an explosive device”, she added.
This morning, on the railway line between Warsaw and Dęblin, the driver of a passenger train managed to stop the train at the last moment before reaching a gap in the tracks. Everything indicates that the rail was deliberately damaged by the detonation of an explosive charge. Yesterday, around 9:00 p.m., the police received information about an explosion in the area, but officers found nothing under the cover of night.
“There was an act of sabotage. There was an explosion, a bang, an explosive device. The services are working on-site and trying to determine what really happened”, said Iwona Kurowska, speaking with Michał Gwardyński from TV Republika.
The starosta reported that command at the site has been taken over by the Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP).
“We know that this operation will continue until late at night,” she added.
