Just before 11:00 a.m., Donald Tusk finally… woke up. The head of government published a post on X, from which it appears that either he does not know the outcome of the talks between Ukraine and the United States, which were later also joined by, among others, President Karol Nawrocki, or he is bothered by the fact that he himself did not take part in the negotiations.
Yesterday, an exchange of remarks took place on social media between Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
When Nawrocki responded to Tusk’s accusatory post regarding his speech in Poznań, the head of government replied – just after 4:00 p.m.! – “Indeed, it’s hard to believe. Sweet dreams.”
A little later, the leader of the December 13 Coalition wished success to Volodymyr Zelensky, who was holding talks in the United States with President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, after the bilateral talks between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, a videoconference of leaders took place with the participation of the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
“The President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, took part in a teleconference of European leaders with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. The state of the peace talks was discussed, aimed at bringing an end to the war in Ukraine unleashed by Russia. President Karol Nawrocki emphasized President Trump’s strong engagement in the peace process and thanked him for today’s conversation. He noted that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport has served as a hub for more than 90% of aid to Ukraine. Therefore, Poland’s position at the moment of signing a peace agreement will be crucial” – reported shortly before 11:00 p.m. Polish time by the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. That is, at a time when Tusk was “asleep.”
Tusk Woke Up and… Thunders
After the conversation with Trump and other leaders, Zelensky assured that U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine had been agreed upon. Trump, in turn, stated that around 95% of the issues had been settled, although he admitted that “one or two very sensitive issues” still remained, including the matter of the remaining non-occupied territories of Ukraine in Donbas.
Of course, when Donald Tusk finally “woke up,” he added a post:
“After nighttime talks with European leaders, one thing is certain: the West and Ukraine will lose this confrontation if Russia manages to divide us and dictate the terms of peace. A success is the declaration of U.S. participation in security guarantees. But the talks are still far from their finale.”
However, the post did not include information on who exactly took part in those nighttime talks.
