“We will stand firmly behind him – if he is sent to prison, we will definitely be there outside that facility. We will also monitor the pardon procedure with the president. There will be protests. I think we all know what our task is regarding Adam Borowski, because he is a symbol of the fight against Tusk’s regime,” said Beata Dróżdż, chairwoman of the Gazeta Polska Club in Piotrków Trybunalski.
Today, Judge Katarzyna Bień of the District Court for Warsaw-Wola decided that Adam Borowski is to be imprisoned for six months in connection with his statement concerning Roman Giertych. Borowski’s defense lawyer, Krzysztof Wąsowski, announced that he would file an appeal against today’s court decision.
The head of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska Club was accompanied in court today by a large group of supporters from Gazeta Polska Clubs and the Border Defense Movement.
Representatives of the Clubs have already declared their solidarity with Adam Borowski.
“First and foremost, Gazeta Polska Clubs will always stand with Adam Borowski – he is a kind of leader of our activities, which he has demonstrated many times. We will do everything to prevent Adam from going to prison. We showed our presence here today, but many club members are also supporting Adam via text messages. I understand his stance, which shows that he equates these actions with those before 1989 and compares the communist regime to Tusk’s regime,” Beata Dróżdż, chairwoman of the Gazeta Polska Club in Piotrków Trybunalski, said in an interview with a reporter from the niezalezna.pl portal.
“We will stand firmly behind him – if he is sent to prison, we will definitely be there outside that facility. We will also monitor the pardon procedure with the president. There will be protests. I think we all know what our task is regarding Adam Borowski, because he is a symbol of the fight against Tusk’s regime,” she added.
