“In recent days, Gazeta Wyborcza published articles containing untrue information about President Karol Nawrocki. The Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland (KPRP) will request a correction from Gazeta Wyborcza (GW),” announced the President’s spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz.
Falsehoods by Wyborcza About President Nawrocki
A statement was published on the website of the Chancellery of the President, indicating that in recent days Wyborcza released four articles containing false information about the head of state. The publications in question were:
"Kryptoprezydent spłaca długi" (Crypto-President Pays His Debts), authored by Wojciech Czuchnowski,
"Kryptowaluty na styku z polityką. Jak wyglądały sponsorowane konferencje prawicy" (Cryptocurrencies at the Intersection with Politics: What Sponsored Right-Wing Conferences Looked Like), authored by Wojciech Czuchnowski,
"Wielki sport i kryptowaluty" (Major Sports and Cryptocurrencies), authored by Radosław Leniarski,
"Rynek kryptowalut. Zacierane tropy wiodą do prezydenta Nawrockiego" (Cryptocurrency Market: Covered Tracks Lead to President Nawrocki), authored by Wojciech Czuchnowski.
As stated, “it is not true that during the CPAC conference held in Jasionka on 27 May 2025, then-candidate for President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki declared that he would not sign the government’s bill on cryptocurrency market oversight”. The KPRP explains that “in his speech at this event, Karol Nawrocki did not refer in any way to the regulation of the crypto-asset market – therefore, no such declaration mentioned by the author of the article was made”.
Another falsehood concerned the claim that “President Karol Nawrocki’s first visit to the United States was held under the patronage of Zondacrypto as the sponsor of a Polish-American summit, where he was the main guest”.
We inform that President Karol Nawrocki did not take part in such an event. On 3 September of this year, the President paid a visit to Washington, during which he met with the President of the United States Donald Trump at the White House and laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. He did not participate in any other meetings – the KPRP noted.
GW also wrote that the President allegedly “flew to the USA with the team of organizers of the Polish-American Strategic Industries Summit”. In reality, the program of the President’s visit to Washington did not include the participation of the organizers of this event, nor their travel aboard the presidential aircraft.
Gazeta Wyborcza also published false information regarding the size of the TV Republika team accompanying the President during his visit to the United States on 3 September 2025. GW reported that there were fourteen such individuals, whereas in fact the Free Speech Zone network sent two people on assignment.
