General Gromadziński Appeals SKW Decision, Awaits PM’s Ruling

General Jarosław Gromadziński, recently dismissed from his position as the commander of the Eurocorps and stripped of his security clearances by the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), has formally appealed the decision to the Prime Minister. Gromadziński, a highly regarded military leader, confirmed that he submitted his appeal on August 5th, expressing his expectation for a response from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

The controversy surrounding General Gromadziński began in March 2024, when he was unexpectedly removed from his post and recalled from Strasbourg, where the Eurocorps is based. The Ministry of Defense cited an ongoing investigation by SKW as the reason for his dismissal. On July 22, SKW announced that the investigation had concluded, resulting in the revocation of Gromadziński’s security clearances, citing a lack of trust in his ability to safeguard classified information.

Despite these developments, Gromadziński maintains his innocence, asserting that he has always represented the Polish military honorably both domestically and abroad. The situation has garnered significant attention, with some media outlets, including “Gazeta Polska” and niezalezna.pl, suggesting that the general’s removal is politically motivated, with claims of methods akin to Russian disinformation being used against him.
