“From a legal standpoint, this constitutes organized crime. An international criminal group is attempting to influence Polish elections, spending millions of złoty on campaign ads,” said PiS MP Paweł Jabłoński in response to our recent report. The politician called on Adam Bodnar “to immediately launch an investigation into the matter.”
Online Smear Campaigns
Recently, entities officially unaffiliated with Rafał Trzaskowski have spent significantly more money on Facebook political promotion—often of a smear campaign nature—than Karol Nawrocki’s official election committee.
In video materials not endorsed by any electoral committee, Karol Nawrocki and Sławomir Mentzen are heavily criticized, while Rafał Trzaskowski is portrayed in a positive light. Notably, these pages were created by a German company previously known for running pro-Russian websites used for disinformation purposes.
The issue was addressed during a press conference today by PiS politicians Michał Moskal and Paweł Jabłoński.
“We have recently reported illegal financing of Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign, including through state-owned companies. Various shell foundations have emerged, launching online campaigns that are not marked as official electoral content. We see this effort extending beyond foundations like ‘Your Voice Matters’ to companies active in this space. Two of them, running the pages ‘You Know How It Isn’t’ and ‘The Adult Table’, have conducted expensive ad campaigns over the past month,” Moskal said.
He added that “recent information has revealed the source of these funds—these two pages were registered by a shell company, KFT.”
“The domains for these pages were registered by a German company linked to Russian disinformation efforts. And now that it’s been revealed these companies, previously tied to Russian information operations, are backing Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign—there is total media silence,” he emphasized.
“This is Organized Crime”
Paweł Jabłoński stated that “Polish elections are currently under cyber attack. Online disinformation watchdogs have prepared a detailed report on this, which is striking from a national security perspective.”
“It’s 20 pages documenting the connections between institutions, organizations, and shell foundations opposing PiS and currently supporting Rafał Trzaskowski and Civic Platform (PO). Legally speaking, this is organized crime. An international criminal group is attempting to manipulate Polish elections and is spending millions on campaign ads. By the end of the campaign, this spending will likely exceed the legal limits set for electoral committees,” Jabłoński declared.
He also urged Adam Bodnar to immediately initiate an investigation.
“We call on Tomasz Siemoniak to ensure that the appropriate services launch proceedings to determine who is trying to influence Polish elections—and why individuals connected to Russia want Rafał Trzaskowski to win,” he concluded.
