“It is clearly visible who is who.” Strong reaction from Szefernaker regarding the President’s visit to the USA

“Today, among commentators, journalists, and media workers discussing the visit of President Karol Nawrocki to the USA, it is clearly visible who is who. It is easy to distinguish between people interested in facts and those who primarily defend their own circles, political sympathies, or media narratives,” wrote Paweł Szefernaker, Head of the President’s Office.

President of Poland Karol Nawrocki is on a visit to the United States. In the night from Sunday to Monday, he took part in events related to the birthday of the U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. During the visit, President Nawrocki spoke twice with Trump, and as the Head of the International Policy Bureau Marcin Przydacz points out, he was the only foreign head of state present at the reception hosted by the President.

Przydacz, who briefed journalists on the course of Nawrocki’s visit to Washington, said that during talks with President Nawrocki, President Trump confirmed “allied commitment”, including confirmation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, assurance that planned reductions of the U.S. military presence in Western Europe would not affect Poland, as well as maintaining a public declaration to send an additional 5,000 soldiers to Poland.

Despite this, criticism from politicians of the ruling coalition and some commentators has not been lacking, with attempts to downplay the significance of the President’s visit.

These reactions were addressed today by the Head of the President’s Office, Paweł Szefernaker.

“Today, among commentators, journalists, and media workers discussing the visit of President Karol Nawrocki to the USA, it is clearly visible who is who. It is easy to distinguish between people interested in facts and those who primarily defend their own circles, political sympathies, or media narratives. And perhaps that is precisely why the reactions to this visit say more about the commentators than about the event itself,” he stated.

During the visit, President Nawrocki also met with the Polish diaspora in the United States, as well as high-ranking representatives of the U.S. administration.

At the Capitol, the President held talks with the Republican Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate, John Thune. The meetings were also attended by the chairmen of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees – Roger Wicker and Jim Risch.

This meeting is the final official point of Nawrocki’s visit to Washington before he departs for Florida, where in Clearwater on the outskirts of Tampa he will meet with the Polish diaspora at the Polish Center named after John Paul II.
