Karol Nawrocki at the Congress of the Polish Village: “Hands Off Polish Land. Poland Needs a President, Not a Butler for German Interests”

How to address the problems of the Polish countryside and agriculture? How to resist the anti-farming policies pushed by EU politicians and advance Polish agricultural interests in Europe? These were the topics discussed by civic presidential candidate Dr. Karol Nawrocki during the Congress of the Polish Village in Opoczno.

Modernity and Tradition

Karol Nawrocki emphasized the importance of the Polish countryside and agricultural production.

“The countryside is where our heritage and identity are preserved. It is always home to Poland’s beautiful landscapes. The countryside needs a strong, decisive president who will defend it. I promise you that I will be that president. Some may be surprised, but the Polish countryside and we Poles, attached to tradition, the symbol of the cross, and Christian values, are modern. Because today, modernity does not require cutting ties with history and tradition. Today, we must face the challenges of the 21st century, and the Polish countryside is capable of doing so. The truly modern are those who can navigate the 21st century without abandoning the traditions that define us as a nation.” stressed Karol Nawrocki.

“NO” to Experiments

Karol Nawrocki announced that, as president, he would use his power to call a referendum on rejecting the Green Deal.

“Let the European elites conduct their 21st-century modern experiments on their own territory, not on Polish farmers and agricultural businesses. This is Poland, and this is our agricultural security. We will be secure when we are protected energetically, food-wise, economically, and militarily. I plan to convene a summit on the Green Deal.”

No Deal with MERCOSUR

The presidential candidate also addressed the Green Deal, commonly referred to as “eco-madness.”

“I have already visited 260 Polish districts and municipalities. Everywhere I hear that this Green Deal is eco-madness, tormenting Polish farmers and agricultural businesses. We live in a situation where Polish farmers are constantly under fire from EU bureaucracy and regulations. The Polish farmer’s role is to feed Poland—and when needed, to defend it. I will never agree to the implementation of the deal with MERCOSUR countries!”

Karol Nawrocki also declared that he would not sign any law raising the retirement age for farmers, would strengthen the subsidy and loan system for family farms, and would not allow wind turbines to be built near residential areas.
