Key circumstances of President Nawrocki’s visit to the USA. “This is the most important goal for Poland”

At the time of Karol Nawrocki’s visit, Washington is just coming out of the summer break – after the American Labor Day holiday, the most intense season in U.S. politics begins, and President Karol Nawrocki will be the first leader to fully engage in this political bustle in Washington, discussing issues important for Poland and the region – I mean Ukraine here – as well as the role of the Poland-USA alliance in the world. The goal, which is very important for Poland, is for Poland to become the most important American ally on the European continent, and everything indicates that this may indeed happen – said Adrian Kubicki, former Consul General of Poland in New York, in TV Republika.

On September 3, 2025, in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump will meet with the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. The meeting will take place less than a month after the inauguration of the new Polish head of state. The two politicians had already met during the presidential campaign, when Nawrocki visited the USA in April 2025.

In connection with the Polish president’s visit to the USA, TV Republika is organizing a Transatlantic Summit, which will include debates on topics such as energy, defense, media, artificial intelligence, and cryptocurrencies. At the same time, leading journalists from the Free Speech Zone media will also meet with representatives of the Polish diaspora during several scheduled meetings.

The topic of Karol Nawrocki’s visit to the USA was also discussed in today’s episode of Tomasz Sakiewicz’s program Political Coffee.

There is an ongoing debate about whether the Polish president, or the Polish delegation, should participate in a broader format at the White House with President Trump, where the key figure was President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. I think that for everyone who follows the political scene and understands international relations, it is clear that such bilateral, face-to-face meetings have much greater value. In the context of what is happening in peace negotiations, of what took place in Alaska, and in the later stages, this will be a very important platform for the Polish president to present Poland’s perspective – to highlight the role Poland should play in the entire peace process, as well as in what will follow, in terms of the reconstruction and transformation of Ukraine. President Nawrocki will have an excellent opportunity to convey this. From President Trump’s perspective as well, the meeting with the Polish president carries such value – emphasized Adrian Kubicki, former Consul General of Poland in New York.

Important circumstances of the meeting

He added that “it is not common for such a meeting to be arranged just a few weeks after the inauguration of a new head of state.”

It is also very rare – not to say exceptional – that the two men already know each other, because President Trump met Karol Nawrocki when he was still a candidate. He bet on his victory – rightly so. This will be another meeting, which means that while President Andrzej Duda had a very close relationship, President Nawrocki is stepping up to an even higher level – he said.

Kubicki pointed out yet another aspect of the Polish president’s visit to the USA:

At the time of Karol Nawrocki’s visit, Washington is just coming out of the summer break – after the American Labor Day holiday, the most intense season in U.S. politics begins, and President Karol Nawrocki will be the first leader to fully engage in this political bustle in Washington, discussing issues important for Poland and the region – I mean Ukraine here – as well as the role of the Poland-USA alliance in the world. The goal, which is very important for Poland, is for Poland to become the most important American ally on the European continent, and everything indicates that this may indeed happen.

Polish lobbying on two issues

Tadeusz Antoniak, coordinator of the Gazeta Polska Clubs in the USA, said that he had the opportunity to officially meet with Agnieszka Jędrzak, Minister in the Chancellery of the President of Poland responsible for contacts with the Polish diaspora, and “she said she hopes that Polish lobbying in the USA will continue to influence U.S. senators and congressmen towards expanding the Three Seas Initiative and increasing the number of U.S. troops stationed in Poland.”

I hope the presidents’ talks will focus on this. We will also try to continue doing what we did under the previous Polish president – this lobbying will go on, and I believe it will be effective. With a visit of such importance, we are ready, we are in the starting blocks to act. Most importantly – the Three Seas Initiative and increasing the number of U.S. troops in Poland – this is the counterweight to what the current Polish government is attempting to do, fortunately ineffectively, with its plans for Mitteleuropa. The answer to this, the way for Poland to become a subject rather than an object, is Poland’s role in the Three Seas Initiative – added Antoniak.
