MEP Jaki: A 3% Vote Shift Put Tusk in Power – Warning Against ‘Alternative Right’ Movements

“We are missing a few percent of right-wing voters to vote for us. That is what we lack to win the elections again. This is absolutely achievable. The problem is that many people left us for alternative, so-called right-wing projects,” said Patryk Jaki, a Member of the European Parliament from Law and Justice (PiS), during a meeting of the Gazeta Polska Club in Sosnowiec. The vice-president of the opposition party recalled what contributed to PiS’s defeat in 2023 and pointed out how it could happen again.

The MEP spoke about the previous election campaign, in which, as he recalled, the party Poland Is One (Polska Jest Jedna) took part.

“We were told that the leader of that formation is better than you, that he entrusted his city to Mary, that he prays more. And people trusted him,”

he said.

“3% of the votes that decided that Tusk came to power. If those 3% of votes had gone to our side, we would still be governing. Look how much harm could have been avoided. People of goodwill were deceived by this. Immediately after the elections, the project was dissolved,”

he stated.

According to Jaki, “PJJ” was “an agent-driven project” intended to “deceive people and hand power to Tusk.”

“And that’s how it ended,” he concluded.

“An even bigger gift to Tusk”

In the view of the PiS vice-president, there is currently another, similar formation on the horizon.

“Braun’s project. I want to tell you that in this respect it is even more dangerous and an even bigger gift to Tusk,” he said.

“We are talking about a serious, great Poland. How am I supposed to build a serious government with the people sitting here, with a man who questions the existence of gas chambers? This is the best possible president for all of Poland’s enemies, to ridicule Poland, to discredit Poland, to stop treating Poland as a serious partner. This is an ideal gift for Russia,”

he assessed.

Jaki also recalled a letter in which Grzegorz Braun wrote to Sergey Lavrov about normalizing relations.

“When, since the 16th century, has Russia had intentions toward Poland other than conquest, etc.? […] So what is this really? This is a fifth column meant to deceive right-wing Poles,”

he stated.

“Please, Poles, do not be fooled by this. This will be another ‘PJJ,’ after which it will turn out that we will not be able to form a government, that there will be splits, and Tusk will once again remain in power,”

he said.
