During the presidential debate hosted by TV Republika, Karol Nawrocki made a significant declaration. The candidate endorsed by the Law and Justice party (PiS) stated that he “will not allow the retirement age for women and men to be raised” and that he will “advocate for the 800 Plus program.” He emphasized: “This social policy of the PiS government is a great success, and that must be acknowledged.”
Karol Nawrocki spoke during the presidential debate on TV Republika about the “social achievements” of the Law and Justice (PiS) government.
“I believe that Marshal Szymon Hołownia, through his unnecessary comparison of women to ATMs, has obliged me to declare that I will be a guardian of the social gains of the Law and Justice government. Yes, I will fight for the thirteenth and fourteenth pension payments. I will not allow the retirement age for women and men to be increased, and I will also advocate for the continuation of the 800 Plus benefit. This social policy of the PiS government is a major success, and it deserves to be acknowledged. As for the issue of demography, which was just raised a moment ago – let me remind you that my program includes a major initiative called ‘Return Home to Poland’, which aims to facilitate the return of nearly 20 million Poles living abroad to the Republic of Poland,”
he stated.
The presidential candidate supported by PiS also responded to a viewer’s question: “What changes to the electoral code and referendum law would support greater civic participation in public life?”
“I have declared that, as president, I will make use of Article 125 of the Constitution. I will approach the Senate with a proposal for a referendum on rejecting the Green Deal, and also—if by February 2026 politicians fail to reach an agreement on the Polish judiciary—then the citizens themselves will decide what our system of justice should look like,”
he declared.
