Nawrocki’s Political Strike Set for This Sunday: “It Will Be a Show of Strength”

On April 27 at 12 PM, a major convention for Karol Nawrocki, the civic candidate for President of Poland, will take place at the Expo Hall in Łódź. Organizers promise that the event will be unlike anything seen so far in this campaign, aiming primarily to mobilize both voters and the broader political community. Experts say they expect an American-style convention, one that will “cement Nawrocki’s presidential profile.”

Presidential Election Just Three Weeks Away

With only three weeks left until the presidential election, recent polls show that although Rafał Trzaskowski still leads in support, Karol Nawrocki has been steadily closing the gap. The upcoming convention is expected to solidify this trend. Scheduled for this Sunday at noon in Łódź, the event is shaping up to be a turning point.

According to sources close to Dr. Nawrocki, the convention will not focus on unveiling new policy proposals, as the candidate’s program has already been made public and is available on his website. That said, organizers hint that “new campaign elements” may be introduced, though details remain under wraps. The event is expected to stand out from previous ones, with its primary goal being to energize the patriotic camp and demonstrate that Dr. Nawrocki has the stature of a national leader.

Sunday’s Convention: What to Expect

Codzienna reached out to political experts to ask what they anticipate from Karol Nawrocki’s Sunday convention.

“I’m very curious to see what it will look like. I suspect it will be organized in an American style—full of optimism. Recent polling shows the wind is in Nawrocki’s sails, and the goal is to keep that momentum going through May 18. I’m expecting fireworks,” said Professor Jacek Reginia-Zacharski, a political scientist from the University of Łódź, in an interview with GPC.

“There were some concerns that the event was scheduled just a day after the funeral of the Holy Father and the national mourning. From what I know, Nawrocki’s team did consider rescheduling. However, I believe it’s ultimately a good decision to go ahead as planned—yesterday’s events won’t negatively affect how the convention is received,” he added.

Professor Arkadiusz Jabłoński, a sociologist from the Catholic University of Lublin, also shared his thoughts.

“In my view, there’s still a missing piece in presenting Nawrocki as a true man of the people—a Polish family man with a strong vision. After his long interview on Kanał Zero, where we learned more about his family and life experiences, many people began to see him more sympathetically. I think that message should be reinforced,” Prof. Jabłoński told us.

We also spoke with Dr. Andrzej Anusz, a political scientist from the Piłsudski Institute in Warsaw.

“In my opinion, the convention will serve as a show of strength. This is a good moment for Karol Nawrocki, and I believe Sunday will confirm his presidential format. His charisma will be on full display, emphasizing that the civic candidate for president is a real leader,” said Dr. Anusz.

We also asked him how he sees the final stretch of the presidential campaign unfolding.

“All tools for voter mobilization will be brought into play. From a tactical perspective, it’s crucial to keep cool when dealing with other candidates from the conservative bloc. So far, that’s been handled very well—no unnecessary conflicts. But it’s an area where even a small misstep could have serious consequences,” he concluded.
