    New Leadership Transition at the Polish Armed Forces

    General Wiesław Kukuła handed over the command of the General Command of the Armed Forces Branches to General Marek Sokołowski on Monday, according to an official statement by the General Command. After nine months in this role, General Kukuła expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and the invaluable experience gained from leading the military community.


    In his speech, General Kukuła extended his appreciation to the unit commanders for their exemplary leadership and camaraderie. He highlighted the strength of their leadership, which bodes well for the Polish Armed Forces’ future operations.

    General Sokołowski, who will temporarily assume the position, congratulated General Kukuła on his new role and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the professionalism and dedication required for the armed forces’ missions.

    This transition follows the recent resignation of General Rajmund Andrzejczak and General Tomasz Piotrowski, with President Andrzej Duda appointing General Wiesław Kukuła as Chief of the General Staff and General Maciej Klisz as the operational commander of the Armed Forces Branches. General Marek Sokołowski will hold the position temporarily.
