“No to SAFE.” Warsaw ‘Gazeta Polska’ Club Head: Tusk Should Not Assume We’ve Lost Our Instinct for Freedom

“Germany armed to the teeth, with the largest army in the world, wanting, as Merz has announced, to take responsibility for our eastern border, is dynamite, an atomic bomb planted beneath our security,” Adam Borowski, head of the Warsaw “Gazeta Polska” Club and organizer of yesterday’s “No to SAFE” protest, said in an interview with niezalezna.pl.

Yesterday at noon, a “No to SAFE” demonstration organized by the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs took place in front of the Presidential Palace. A large number of protesters gathered to oppose the EU loan and appealed to the President to veto the bill introducing the SAFE financial instrument.

“We are currently spending 5 percent of GDP annually on defense. For years, Germany did not even spend 2 percent and failed to meet its NATO commitments. Our armament does not depend on this loan; we allocate funds for armaments every year. We have purchased equipment from the United States, the most modern F-35 aircraft. This is being done to put us into debt and to develop their factories. With the money we spend on their equipment, they will buy more modern American equipment for themselves,”

Adam Borowski, head of the Warsaw “GP” Club and the main organizer of yesterday’s protest, told niezalezna.pl.

“Germany armed to the teeth, with the largest army in the world, wanting, as Merz has announced, to take responsibility for our eastern border, is dynamite, an atomic bomb planted beneath our security. They are itching to reach an agreement with Russia. The Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 projects, signed despite our protests, effectively became a cause of the war in Ukraine. The billions of euros that flowed to Moscow in exchange for oil and gas enabled it to wage this war. We must be aware of that. And now Germany wants to punish the Ukrainians who blew up that pipeline. They did it in our interest. That pipeline ran counter to our interests,”

he added.

Yesterday, Borowski appealed to the President of the Republic of Poland to veto the bill implementing the SAFE mechanism.

“The President’s advisers and all experts in security, defense, and financial matters who are independent of this government say that this is harmful to Poland. We already have enormous debt, and this government is further indebting us. If we add this debt, we will not be able to dig ourselves out,” the head of the Warsaw “GP” Club argued.

“We are doing this for our children, for their future, and they say, ‘after us, the deluge.’ They want to leave ruins behind. For them, Polishness is abnormality. The leader of this gang, dependent on the German euro, wants to destroy Poland; he does not want a sovereign Poland, he wants one state, in reality, a Fourth Reich. We cannot allow this, because Poland will cease to exist. I would like people to stand at attention here in 100, 200, 300 years and be moved when the Polish national anthem is played, to sing ‘Rota,’ to listen to Ogiński’s Polonaise, to read the poetry of Herbert and Mickiewicz, because we carry this in our hearts. We have a beautiful, heroic history. We do not have in our past the villainy, the wickedness, the crimes that the Germans and Russians have on their hands. We are a nation that attacked no one; we defended ourselves and fought for our freedom and yours. Therefore, let Donald Tusk not think that we have lost this freedom gene when he comes out and tries to frighten us, saying that we are ‘Russian shills,’ that we serve Putin. It is he who Putin’s pupil is; it was he who said that together with Putin, they would ensure that no one would throw sand into the gears. It was he who said, when Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014, on his way to Brussels, that ‘Poland cannot be at the forefront of anti-Russian countries.’ In his soul, there is no Poland; in his heart and eyes, there is only money, the euro. He is ready to sell everything for money and for the euro,”

he declared.
