Jan-Krzysztof Duda first won 2.5:0.5 against Indian Arjun Erigaisi on the first day of the final online rapid chess tournament, and consecutively won against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan in the second round of the final tournament, ending this year’s Meltwater Champions Chess Tour series.
In Monday’s competition, the 24-year-old Polish chess grandmaster was the only one to finish after just three games (15 minutes plus 10 seconds).
In the second round of the final online rapid chess tournament, Jan-Krzysztof Duda won 2.5:1.5 against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan.
The Pole has six points after two rounds, as does this year’s series leader Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, who also won both games without needing overtime.
