Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

US President Joe Biden will come to Poland in the near future, a senior Polish presidential aide announced on Friday.

Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish president’s International Policy Bureau, said after meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman at the White House:

“As we know from President Biden himself, President Biden intends to come to Poland; today’s talks concerned these plans for the nearest future. Of course, the details of such a visit will be made available when a firm date has been set, but my discussion today… was a big step forward when it comes to the intensification of these meetings at the highest level.”

Przydacz said the talks, which also included Jacek Siewiera, head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, included further assistance for Ukraine, the continued presence of US forces in Poland, the transfer of technology and arms purchases as well as a forthcoming Nato summit in Vilnius. Presidential advisors of the Baltic states also took part in the White House talks.

Przydacz added that the response to an expected Russian offensive in Ukraine was also among the subjects discussed.
