The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament expressed his gratitude to the Polish Senate for its resolution on Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
Ruslan Stefanchuk acknowledged the importance of the resolution, which was adopted unanimously by the Senate and called for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius to offer Ukraine a pathway to full membership.
The resolution stated that Ukraine’s accession to NATO should be a political decision and a result of a strategic analysis of challenges and threats outside the alliance’s eastern border, similar to the cases of Finland and Sweden.
Polish senators also emphasized Ukraine’s role in defending Europe against aggression from the East and Stefanchuk thanked them for their support.
