President’s Press Conference Interrupted by Civic Coalition MP, Brief Exchange Follows

President Karol Nawrocki’s press conference in the Sejm was interrupted by Civic Coalition (KO) MP Adrian Witczak, leading to a brief exchange between the politicians.

While commenting in the Sejm on Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski’s address, President Nawrocki emphasized the alignment of their positions on key security issues, particularly in assessing the threat posed by Russia and the importance of cooperation with the United States and NATO. He pointed out that Poland has an opportunity to strengthen its position on the international stage, including through participation in the G20, which, he noted, should become a permanent arrangement.

At the same time, the president indicated elements he found missing from the minister’s exposé. He expected greater assertiveness toward the European Commission and stressed that the issue of “Polexit,” extensively discussed by Sikorski, is,  in his view,  a non-existent problem. He also noted the lack of broader reference to regional cooperation frameworks such as the Three Seas Initiative, in which Poland plays a significant role.

During President Karol Nawrocki’s press conference in the Sejm, an unexpected incident occurred involving Civic Coalition MP Adrian Witczak. During the Q&A session with journalists, the MP began loudly addressing the president, prompting Nawrocki to respond: “Why are you shouting here, Mr. MP?” The situation caused a brief moment of tension, after which the conference continued.

Civic Coalition MP Disrupts President’s Address

“Mr. MP, this is a press conference. It is not a regional Civic Coalition conference. Let us maintain decorum,” concluded the president’s press spokesperson, Rafał Leśkiewicz.
