PZPN Pledges Support for Clubs Affected by Floods

PZPN pledges 1.75 million PLN to support football clubs hit by floods, urging UEFA to extend aid globally.

Cezary Kulesza, president of the Polish Football Association (PZPN), announced a 1.75 million PLN aid package for football clubs impacted by recent floods. Kulesza emphasized the importance of solidarity in these difficult times, ensuring that no affected club would be left without help. “The slogan +Łączy nas piłka+ means more than words,” he shared via social media.

    Regional Efforts and Broader Initiatives
Andrzej Padewski, head of the Lower Silesian Football Association, praised the decision, noting over 100 clubs in the region had suffered damage, including the near-destruction of a new stadium in Stronie Śląskie. The local association has already allocated 200,000 PLN in relief funds and launched a sports equipment collection initiative. PZPN also contributed 200,000 PLN to flood victims and proposed that federations from other flood-hit nations, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania, seek UEFA support.

The UEFA Executive Committee will address this proposal in Prague on September 24.
