Police have yet to apprehend the person responsible for shooting at the apartment of a woman who displayed an election banner for Karol Nawrocki, Niezależna.pl has learned. The incident occurred during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
The woman’s apartment, where a campaign poster for civic presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki was hanging on the balcony, was fired at with an air rifle.
Speaking to Telewizja Republika, the resident of Szczecin said the incident happened while she was watching TV late at night. At one point, she heard a loud bang.
“I called 112, explained what had happened, and said I suspected it was politically motivated because I have a banner of Dr. Karol Nawrocki on my balcony,”
– the woman said in an interview with TV Republika.
She added that the banner had been up for several days.
Police Response
Police launched an investigation into the incident on April 20.
“We’re treating the matter very seriously. Significant resources have been allocated,” the police told reporters.
So far, the perpetrator remains at large. In comparison, suspects who issued threats against Jerzy Owsiak have previously been apprehended much faster—sometimes on the very same day.
