    Schools ready to welcome students

The SARS-CoV-2 virus test was carried out on nearly 134,000 teachers of grades 1-3 of primary schools and school staff. Only about 2 percent of them were infected. Schools are ready to admit students for full-time education from Monday.

Due to the epidemic situation, classroom classes for all students in grades 1-3 across the country were suspended from November 9. As replacement, remote education was introduced. Older students switched to remote education two weeks earlier – from October 26. However, on Monday, January 18, the youngest classes return to full-time education.

Screening for SARS-CoV-2 was conducted from January 11 to 15. They were attended by teachers of grades 1-3 of primary and special schools as well as school employees. The examine was voluntary and free.

“The data provided by the Chief Sanitary Inspector shows that during the five days of the screening action for teachers and school administrative staff, smears were taken from nearly 134 thousand people. More than 122 thousand of them received the results. 2422 people received a positive test for the presence of coronavirus, that is 2 percent of all  results,” Anna Ostrowska spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education and Science said.
