From Saturday, one doesn’t have to wear masks outside, that is on roads and squares, promenades, boulevards. However, one must keep a safe distance from the other person – at least 1.5 m.
The government abolished this obligation by a regulation of the Council of Ministers published on May 6 in the Journal of Laws. The mask regulation will apply from Saturday, May 15 to June 5.
Previously, the government announced that if the infection rate per 100,000 people fell below 15, the obligation to wear masks in the open air could be lifted. However, when it is not possible to keep the required distance – 1.5 m from the other person – it must also be carried outdoors.
However, the mouth and nose should still be covered in public transport, in airplanes, as well as in shared properties, e.g. in staircases, in elevators and in workplaces, if there is more than one person in the room, unless the employer decides otherwise .
