That's for sure! Kozłowski in Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.

Kacper Kozłowski moves from Pogoń Szczecin to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. on a permanent transfer. The 18-year-old footballer has signed a four-year contract. In the spring he will play in the Belgian Royale Union St-Gilloise on loan.

In accordance with the arrangements, the exact amount of the transaction will not be disclosed. Pogoń Szczecin confirms that it is an eight-figure sum (the currency of the transfer is the euro). The club has also secured a double-digit percentage on any further transfer of the player. Payments for the transfer of the player will be made in installments over the next 3 years.

“Many clubs wanted Kacper and it was obvious that there would eventually come a time when we would say goodbye. Kacper’s career has accelerated incredibly in 2021, resulting in a transfer to Brighton,” said Dariusz Adamczuk, Pogoń’s sporting director.

“When it became clear that Kacper’s transfer would happen, we were in negotiations with several clubs. Brighton was the most determined and able to offer a satisfactory amount to our club. To the best of our knowledge, and we have very good sources of information, this is a record sum for a player leaving our league,” commented Jarosław Mroczek, President of Pogoń Szczecin.

Kozlowski arrived at Pogoń Szczecin Academy in 2016 from Bałtyk Koszalin. Already at the age of 15, he debuted in the third-league reserves of the Dumy Pomorza. Before his 16th birthday, he played for the first time in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, becoming the youngest debutant in the league in the 21st century and the youngest debutant in Pogoń’s history.

In March 2021, he played for the Polish national team for the first time. He then became the second-youngest novice in national team history. So far, he has appeared 6 in the Polish national team. He played 40 games in Pogoń’s top division and scored 4 goals. He also appeared in 2 UEFA Europa Conference League games and one Polish Cup game.

Brighton is currently the 9th team in the English Premier League.
