Robert Kubica will compete in the long-distance world championship. The driver joined the Prema Orlen Team

In the 2022 season, Robert Kubica will compete in the World Endurance Championship as a driver of the Prema Orlen Team.

Last season Kubica triumphed with Orlen Team WRT in the European Le Mans Series in his debut in endurance racing. His team won three rounds.

In October, he competed in two rounds of the FIA WEC season in Bahrain for High-Class Racing. Thanks to the Pole’s excellent performance the Danish team took the bottom step of the podium twice in the ProAm class. Kubica has previously performed well for Alfa Romeo Orlen Racing in two Formula One races at Monza and Zandvoort.

This year the Pole will compete in the World Endurance Championship in six races on three continents; including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe and the 1,000-mile race at Sebring in the USA.

Prema is one of the top teams competing in the major junior single-seater car series. In the last two seasons, he has won Formula 2 championships among both drivers and teams. This year it will feature Swiss Louis Deletraz and Italian Lorenzo Colombo alongside Kubica. Deletraz, along with Kubica and Chinese driver Yifei Ye, formed the team that won the Le Mans Series in 2021.

“I am very happy to join the Prema Orlen Team. I have already raced against them in the 2003 Formula 3 Euro Series. Even though I competed in Bahrain and the 24 Hours of Le Mans last season, I see this as a new challenge for me and the entire team. I am glad that I will be competing together with Louis, whom I know well, and with Lorenzo. I’m looking forward to it. It will take a lot of work and dedication from me,” admitted Kubica.
