Robert Kubica back on track? Will he compete in the 1,000-mile race at Sebring in March?

Robert Kubica is going to compete in the 1,000-mile race scheduled for March 18 at Sebring in Florida. The Pole will start in the Prema Orlen Team. The competition will take place after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pole’s partners in the team will be Swiss Louis Deletraz and Italian Lorenzo Colombo. Deletraz, along with Kubica and Chinese driver Yifei Ye, formed the team that won the Le Mans Series in 2021.

Prema is one of the top teams competing in the major junior single-seater car series. In the last two seasons, he has won Formula 2 championships among both drivers and teams.

Joining the Prema Orlen Team marks Kubica’s return to the team. He has already raced for the Italian team in his first season in Formula 3 Euro Series. First, he missed three rounds due to injury, but then – in his debut at the Norisring street circuit in Nürnberg – he scored a sensational victory.

The Polish Inter Europol Competition team, where Kuba Śmiechowski is a driver, is also preparing for the new season.

This year’s rivals in LMP2 will be eight-time world rally champion Frenchman Sebastien Ogier, who signed a contract with the Richard Mille Racing team.
