“Świątek storms past Sabalenka to return to Rome final,” WTA Tennis writes about Pole. Iga Świątek won her 27th match in a row and booked a spot in her fifth consecutive final!
Unbelievable, unique, and simply the best!
Iga Świątek, World No.1, defeated the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (No.8) 6-2, 6-1 and qualified for the final of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. In the Italian capital, the Pole defends the title she won last year.
Tunisian Ons Jabeur and Russian Daria Kasatkina will compete in the second semi-final on Saturday. After that match, Iga will know who she is going to face in the final.
Iga Świątek is the first player since Simona Halep in 2017 to make four WTA 1000 finals in a single season. Earlier, she won in Doha, Indian Wells and Miami.
5th final in a row.
