Katarzyna Wasick has won a silver medal at the World Aquatics Championships in women’s 50m freestyle swimming. Polish national team will finish the competition in Budapest with two medals – earlier also Ksawery Masiuk came third in men’s 50m backstroke.
Wasick scored 24.18 in the final, and the winner was Swedish Sarah Sjöström- 23.98, who already has 10 gold medals in the World Championships. Bronze was won by Australian Meg Harris and American Erika Brown – both 24.38.

Masiuk swam the 50m in 24.49, one-hundredth of a second off the national record, which the 17-year-old Pole set on Friday afternoon. He was preceded by Americans Justin Ress and Hunter Armstrong.

The 2022 World Aquatics Championships is the 19th edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships and is held in Budapest, Hungary. The whole event lasts from 17 June to 3 July 2022.
